Nelson AI collects personal information you provide through the contact form, including your name, email address, company, and project details.
We use this information only to respond to your enquiry, evaluate potential project fit, and provide requested services. We do not sell your information.
Nelson AI is based in Nelson, New Zealand. We handle personal information in accordance with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and its Information Privacy Principles.
Information we collect

- Basic technical data needed for site security, spam prevention, and diagnostics.
How we use your information
- Respond to strategy call requests and follow-up messages.
- Generate AI readiness audit reports and deliver requested summaries by email.
- Operate, secure, and improve our website and lead workflow.
- Meet legal obligations where applicable.
AI processing and security checks
Readiness audit submissions may be processed by trusted AI providers to generate your requested report. We also use Cloudflare Turnstile where configured to prevent abuse.
Chat assistant interactions are restricted to Nelson AI service information and are rate-limited to protect platform integrity.
Service providers we use
We use a small number of service providers to run this website and respond to enquiries. They process information on our behalf, and we share only what each provider needs to do its job:
- Vercel — website hosting and aggregate site analytics.
- Supabase — the database where contact form submissions are stored.
- Cloudflare Turnstile — spam and abuse prevention on forms, where configured.
- OpenAI — generates AI readiness audit reports and powers the site chat assistant.
- Resend — sends enquiry notification emails.
- Upstash — rate limiting to protect the site from abuse.
- Sentry — error monitoring and diagnostics.
Overseas disclosure
Some of these providers store or process information outside New Zealand. Where personal information leaves New Zealand, we use providers whose terms require privacy safeguards comparable to those in the Privacy Act 2020, consistent with Information Privacy Principle 12 (disclosure outside New Zealand).
Data retention
Lead submissions are retained only as long as needed for business operations, legal compliance, and record keeping.
In practice, that means we keep your contact details and enquiry while the enquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterwards as a business record. You can ask us to delete your information at any time by emailing hello@nelsonai.co.nz, and we will action the request unless we are legally required to keep the information.
Your rights
Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you and to ask us to correct it. You can also request deletion of your personal information. To make any of these requests, contact hello@nelsonai.co.nz and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.
If you have a privacy concern, please raise it with us first so we can try to put it right. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
